Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has done it again folks.
The NFL has revealed the first five players to be selected for the 2022 Pro Bowl ahead of their full reveal of rosters. For the seventh consecutive season, Kelce has earned a Pro Bowl nod, joining an exclusive group of players in NFL history.
Only nine other active NFL players have been selected to seven or more consecutive Pro Bowls. That list includes Tom Brady (11), Patrick Peterson (8), Aaron Donald (8), Larry Fitzgerald (7), A.J. Green (7), Matthew Slater (7), Trent Williams (7), Tyron Smith (7), and Bobby Wagner (7). Fewer than 100 players dating back to the Pro Bowl’s inception have been selected for the game seven or more consecutive times. That list includes Chiefs greats like Will Shields, Tony Gonzalez, Bobby Bell, Willie Lanier and Derrick Thomas.
While Kelce will be aiming to play in a different game around this time of year, his selection will help cement his legacy as one of the NFL’s greatest tight ends. It’s one of the few measures of NFL success voted on by the fans. Kelce also continues to break NFL records on the field and be recognized for the work he does off the field as well.
Full Pro Bowl rosters are slated to be revealed on Wednesday, Dec. 22nd on NFL Network and ESPN at 7:00 p.m. CT. Expect more Chiefs players like Tyrann Mathieu and Creed Humphrey to be among those selected for the All-Star game.
