The Kansas City Chiefs’ offseason movement helped to bolster their offense after an uncharacteristic 2023 season.

Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce addressed the new additions to the team during his post-practice press conference on Saturday. He focused on building needed chemistry while at training camp.

“We just got new pieces. We got new chess pieces, guys that have different traits, and we’re just trying to blend that all together to make the best team possible, both on offense and defense and obviously special teams. But it’s the ultimate grind session of working together.” Said Kelce. “We have to be more together right now than even kind of, well, I want to say, during the season. But right now, this is where you really build that togetherness, that chemistry, that ability to lean on each other and fight for each other.”

Kelce will be joined by receivers Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy this year, just a few of the new weapons on the roster. He trusts head coach Andy Reid’s game plan.

“Coach (Andy) Reid puts this challenge in place, and he leads his guys, and the leaders who have been here know how he wants that to be done,” said Kelce. So it’s really just you grind. You come to work every single day, and you go to practice with the right intentions. You slowly start to see the team get better and better every single week.”

Entering his 12th NFL season, Kelce is well aware of what it takes to be a champion and leader on the team. The new Chiefs players appear to fit nicely with the team’s culture.
