The Kansas City Chiefs achieved another close victory in their Week 12 matchup against the Carolina Panthers and earned their tenth regular season win in dramatic fashion after a last-second field goal by kicker Spencer Shrader.
Patrick Mahomes put together a three-touchdown performance without being intercepted and had a legendary 33-yard run in the fourth quarter that helped seal the game in Kansas City’s favor.
But, in their analysis of the Chiefs’ latest victory, the experts at Pro Football Network awarded tight end Noah Gray their game ball for his outstanding showing against Carolina in which he caught two of Mahomes’ three touchdown passes.
Take a look at their reasoning below:
“The easy thing would be just to hand this award to Patrick Mahomes, but that’s true most weeks for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mahomes was Superman Sunday, up to and including his 33-yard scramble that set up Spencer Shrader’s game-winning field goal as time expired in the Chiefs’ 30-27 victory over the Carolina Panthers.
But we’re going Noah Gray here. Why? It’s got to be a pretty anonymous life being the guy who backs up the guy who’s dating Taylor Swift.
But Gray took a backseat to no one, Travis Kelce included, in the Chiefs’ latest escape act.
Gray caught two of Mahomes’ three touchdown passes, had four receptions for a team-high 66 yards, and was on the field for 44 of 74 snaps Sunday.”
Stay tuned to see if Gray can extend his streak of outings with two touchdown catches to three games when the Chiefs face the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday in Week 13.
