Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is the face of the NFL Scouting Combine

Mahomes’ face is featured on banners advertising the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has been called the face of the NFL before. He’s very literally the face of the NFL at the combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. When travelers arrive at the Indianapolis International Airport they’re greeted by a massive banner advertising the combine that features Mahomes and Giants RB Saquon Barkley. Both are pictured in their NFL uniforms as well as their uniforms from the combine.

“The future starts here,” reads the banner.

The players set to debut at the combine this week are the future of the league and the NFL is using some of their biggest stars to remind folks of that. Here’s a look at the banner from Chiefs Wire contributing writer Ed Easton Jr:

Mahomes has quickly ascended to an elite status in the NFL, and the league is taking every opportunity to market him because of it. In his first year as a starter, Mahomes became the league MVP. In his second season as a starter, he led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl win in 50 seasons and became Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes was among the top performers at the NFL combine in 2017, so it makes sense to market him at this event in particular. How does it feel to know that the Chiefs’ quarterback is the face of the NFL? Let us know your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter.
