The trash talk continues to escalate surrounding the participants of ‘The Match’ charity golf event next week in Las Vegas.

Chiefs All-Pro Patrick Mahomes will team up with Josh Allen against fellow quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers on the golf course with the mission to raise money for a great cause and settle some competitive scores. Mahomes was receiving some playful jokes about his golf game last Sunday from Rodgers and had the opportunity to respond publicly for the first time on Thursday during his OTA’s press conference.

“Yeah, I’ve been talking to those guys for a couple of years now,” Mahomes said. “And it worked out well, where I was able to go out there and play the game that I love and golf, play against other quarterbacks, which will be fun. And we give a lot back to charity, which is a big part of that thing. And so to be able to do that, it’s gonna be really cool to get out there with those guys. And me and Josh (Allen), go out there, get a dub gets the old guys. They’ve been trying to talk trash, but you tell it to their scripted or old jokes that they found on Twitter. So when we get on that golf course, and we get to really talk trash, I know me and Josh are gonna do that. And we’re gonna win the match as well.”

The Chiefs are a team on and off the field as bonds amongst several teammates that stretch beyond football. The all-pro duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have done amazing things in the NFL so far, but it was their work on the golf course that the latter used to support Mahomes on June 1.

“I’m gonna try and be out there, man, and heckle Pat (Patrick Mahomes) and the gang and see if I can get any action on live TV,” said Kelce. “I have no idea. I actually haven’t really thought much about that. I hope Pat brings it home, him and Josh (Allen). I mean, we already won one tournament on that course. So who knows? Man, you might get a second dub.”

Mahomes and Kelce were the inaugural winners of Justin Timberlake’s “8 AM Golf Invitational” last April, which took place at the Wynn, Las Vegas golf club. The familiarity and success already at the course could give team Mahomes and Allen the advantage.
