Kansas City Chiefs nemesis Tom Brady has made the move from New England to Tampa Bay this offseason. The move to Florida didn’t happen without a little awkwardness, though.
The new Buccaneers quarterback planned to visit the home of offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. Brady walked into the home next door without knocking before locking eyes with the owner and realizing he was in the wrong house. The unsuspecting resident spoke with TMZ about the unexpected visit from the only six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback.
“I’m sitting here, and I see this big shadow come up to my front door … and I hear my doorknob turning … and I’m like, What the hell? Like, who’s coming in my house?” said homeowner David Kramer ”I literally was just sitting here, and I watch this tall guy walk in my house.”
Brady signed a two-year deal with Tampa Bay at the start of free agency. Leaving New England after 20 seasons has been the top story during this unprecedented offseason.
“And he goes, ‘How’s it going, man?'” Kramer said. “And sarcastically I’m like, ‘I don’t know. You tell me, dude.’ Like, who are you? And then he looked at me with the most confused face. I’ll never forget it for the rest of my life.
“He just goes, ‘Am I in the wrong house?!’
“I said, ‘I think so. But who are you looking for? Where are you supposed to be?’ And he said, ‘Is this Byron’s house?'”
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes can relate to this funny mistake as the same thing happened to him in the past. Mahomes shared the story via his Twitter, comparing it to his first moments in Kansas City. ”Haha crazy part is I have actually done this before in Kansas City going to QB coach’s house,” said Mahomes.

The resident who Mahomes accidentally surprised at their home recalled the encounter and shared a photo too.

Brady’s comical mistake in comparison with Mahomes will hopefully be one of the many things the duo have in common once all is said and done.
