By now you’ve probably heard the story about a liquor store employee, Katie Camlin, breaking the news that a Patrick Mahomes contract extension was on the way. A Kansas City Chiefs’ employee came into her store and purchased multiple bottles of Dom Perignon champagne. As an avid and astute Chiefs fan, she accurately predicted that a contract for Mahomes was coming and tweeted it out as any fan would do.
Now, just a day after Chris Jones signed a long-term deal, the franchise is having a little fun with this story. They released a short video on social media titled, “The Brett Veach Special.” They jokingly reenacted the story from Mahomes’ contract extension and recreated it for Jones. Take a look:

The organization could have easily been upset about this whole situation, but instead, they’ve turned it into an iconic piece of an important moment in franchise history. In doing so, they’ve also celebrated a fan and her excitement over a Mahomes extension echoing the entirety of the Chiefs Kingdom. They’ve also been able to make fun of themselves a bit, showing great humility.
