Chiefs LT Orlando Brown Jr. expected to practice on Tuesday

#Chiefs LT Orlando Brown Jr. is expected to make his training camp practice debut on Tuesday per report.

Orlando Brown Jr. ended his holdout and reported to Kansas City Chiefs training camp on Monday. A day later, he’s officially expected to join his teammates on the practice field for the first time this offseason according to a recent report.

Brown Jr. did not practice on Monday, but he arrived at St. Joseph, Missouri where he went through the team’s pre-camp protocols. He needed to pass a physical and pass the team’s conditioning test, plus sign the franchise tag and rejoin the roster in order to practice. According to The Athletic’s Nate Taylor, Brown Jr. is expected to practice “in some capacity” on Tuesday.

Following practice on Monday, Andy Reid suggested the team would see where Brown Jr. was at in his conditioning and “be smart about it.” The last thing they want to do is rush him out there and get him or another player hurt. He’ll likely be on a pitch count of sorts. I’d expect him to split time with Roderick Johnson until he’s fully acclimated and the team feels comfortable putting him out there full time.

Taylor’s report also added that Carlos Dunlap’s first practice session is scheduled for Thursday. Andy Reid originally said they’d get Dunlap in the building on Wednesday, but it makes sense that his first practice wouldn’t be until the day after. He’s likely already passed through a physical to sign with the team, but he’ll have to go through the conditioning test when he arrives on Wednesday.
