Chiefs injury, absence updates from Day 11 of training camp

#Chiefs RB Darrel Williams was held out of practice on Monday. Rookie DE Joshua Kaindoh also left practice early. More here:

The Kansas City Chiefs were back on the practice fields at Missouri Western State University on Monday.

After leaving practice early on Sunday, Derrick Nnadi, Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Clark were all back at practice. That’s good news with the injuries beginning to pile up in Kansas City. Chad Williams, DeAndre Baker, Juan Thornhill, Anthony Hitchens and Ben Niemann continued to get work in, seeing no setbacks on their respective injuries. There was one new absence at the start of practice on Monday, though.

Not to be confused with C Darryl Williams who is on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, RB Darrel Williams did not practice on Monday. Williams showed up to practice with a compression sleeve on his right leg per reporters in attendance at practice. KFEQ’s Tommy Rezac even reported that he had a noticeable limp. After practice, Chiefs EVP of Communications Ted Crews told reporters that a knee injury kept Williams out of practice.

Late in practice, rookie DE Joshua Kaindoh was spotted in the medical tent. He eventually left the practice field under his own power before the end of practice.

“Kaindoh, you saw him go up the hill, he has a hamstring,” Crews said following practice.

The injury bug was a big problem for the rookie defensive end while he was at Florida State. Hopefully, he can recover from this hamstring quickly and make the most of the remainder of training camp.

Antonio Callaway (bone bruise), Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (hand), Willie Gay Jr. (concussion), Alex Okafor (Hamstring), Mike Remmers (back), Evan Baylis (Ankle), Kyle Long (tibia), and Malik Herring (knee) all remained absent from practice on Monday.

The team will continue their practice week with another session at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday before another off day on Wednesday ahead of their first preseason game.
