Chiefs HC Andy Reid likes progress WR Skyy Moore has shown lately

#Chiefs HC Andy Reid offered up his evaluation of rookie WR Skyy Moore, explaining that he likes the improvement he’s seen in recent weeks.

Could Kansas City Chiefs fans be seeing more of rookie WR Skyy Moore in the next few weeks? It’s not out of the realm of possibility with Andy Reid’s recent comments.

The second-round draft pick was benched on special teams after the punt returner experiment. He hasn’t exactly been the most productive player in the receiver group this season either, recording just 19 receptions for 217 yards through 15 games.

Despite some of the rookie wideout’s early-season struggles, Reid likes what he’s seen from him lately. He noted several improvements that he’s seen over the past several weeks.

“Yeah, I really like what I’m seeing here the last few weeks,” Reid said. “He’s gotten better every week — a better understanding of the offense. We’ve seen some zone teams and how to fit into the different holes as an inside receiver. He’s getting better at that and I like that. And then he’s had a few of the jet sweep things and he was stretching them out, where it would’ve been good in Canada, but not in here. So now he’s hitting that son of a gun up in there, so that’s a good thing.”

Right now, it still seems like the Chiefs are evaluating and figuring out the things that Moore does best. They’re getting him different looks and coaching him up on certain things. With Justin Watson struggling with dropped passes, it’s possible that he gets some looks in that field-stretching role too. He’s certainly due more touches and he’s shown flashes of brilliance as recently as last week.

Even with players like Kadarius Toney and Mecole Hardman working back into the lineup, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before Moore has a breakout game for Kansas City. They just need to make a concerted effort to get him the football.
