Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark wasn’t shy about his confidence going up against Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry.
That still hasn’t changed at this point, as Clark addressed questions on his aggressive words toward the former Alabama rusher.
“If they took that as disrespect or whoever, I really don’t care… at the end of the day you got to deal with me on the field,” he told reporters on Monday. “If you can’t deal with me on the field, that’s your problem.”
It’s not that he doesn’t have appreciation for Henry’s abilities, though.

“I think he’s a great running back,” he said. “I think he’s one of the best running backs in the league, I just think at the end of the day, at that moment when you were playing us that you wasn’t going to be the best running back in the league. That’s not just Derrick Henry, that’s anybody whose name you insert into that slot… at the end of the day I’m a competitor. I feel like in order to call yourself one of the best competitors in the world, if you don’t feel that way, I don’t want to be a team then.”
Despite his seemingly never-ending talk, Clark wasn’t exactly a huge factor as the Chiefs defense held Henry to just 69 yards and a single touchdown on 19 carries in the Titans’ 35-24 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs.
Clark record four tackles – only one of which was solo – and a sack on Ryan Tannehill in the final minutes of the game when the Titans had already lost the opportunity to win.
Will Clark be humbled against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV?

It will certainly be interesting to see as the two teams face each other on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. CST in Miami.
