Chiefs find another way to win, edge Raiders on late turnover

A late turnover saved the Chiefs and doomed the Raiders

Some teams create ways to lose. The Kansas City Chiefs discover ways to win.

On Black Friday at Arrowhead Stadium the Chiefs downed the Las Vegas Raiders, 19-17.

It is the 14th straight one-score win for Kansas City, and it was a thriller. The Chiefs clinched a playoff spot with the win.

Las Vegas took over with no timeouts at its eight with 1:56 left.

Aidan O’Connell, returning from IR, drove LV to the Kansas City 32.

However, on a play with 15 seconds left disaster struck.

There was a bad snap as a penalty flag was thrown. The ball was recovered by Nick Bolton and Kansas City had the victory,

The right guard tapped the center while O’Connell was looking to hurry up. O’Connell was not ready for the snap and the CHiefs were all over the football.

The illegal shift penalty on the Raiders was declined and the Chiefs were 11-1 and Raiders 2-10.

Incredibly, the Chiefs got four field goals from Matthew Wright, their third kicker on the season.

Harrison Butker has been on IR. Spencer Shrader, who has excelled as a replacement, was out with a hamstring injury.

Wright checked in and was 4-of-5 on field-goal attempts.

The Raiders’ Anders Carlson missed three of four attempts, only connecting from 27.

And that is the difference between 11-1 and 2-10.

Taylor Swift was pleased with the result.
