Chiefs enter Week 6 as AFC’s top team in playoff seeding

If the NFL’s 2023 regular season ended today, the #Chiefs would have the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

If the NFL’s 2023 regular season ended today, the Kansas City Chiefs would have a bye week in the playoffs as the AFC’s top team by record. At 4-1, only the Miami Dolphins have matched their mark in the win column through five weeks.

While the Chiefs’ current place in the standings is certainly a good sign for their chance of a Super Bowl repeat, the NFC hosts two undefeated teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, so competition for another ring will be stiff.

Nonetheless, Kansas City should still be in a position to make some noise in the playoffs if they can keep up their winning ways over the next few months. The Chiefs have yet to truly find their rhythm early in the 2023 season, so it is likely that their best football is yet to be played.

With a favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos on the horizon, Kansas City just needs to maintain its success to continue leading the conference.
