Chiefs’ 2022 preseason schedule revealed

The #Chiefs also revealed their preseason schedule (in part) on Thursday night, with two home games and one away game.

Along with the regular-season schedule, the Kansas City Chiefs preseason schedule has also been revealed, at least in part.

It may seem like a footnote in comparison to the regular season, but the preseason should prove interesting for the Chiefs this year. It’ll be the first time that the new-look offense sans Tyreek Hill is out on the field in a game to build some chemistry. It’ll also provide that same chance for the defense, who have several new additions through the draft and free agency.

You can check out the full schedule down below:

Week Date Opponent Time Channel
1 Saturday, Aug. 13 at Chicago Bears Noon CT KSHB-TV
2 TBD vs. Washington Commanders TBD KSHB-TV
3 TBD vs. Green Bay Packers TBD KSHB-TV

Dates and times are still to be decided for two of the games, but we know that two games are set to be played at home with Week 1 coming on the road against Chicago. The Chiefs won’t be getting a nationally-televised game this year, so out-of-state fans might want to look into getting an NFL game pass subscription.

Given the change to the three-game preseason schedule a year ago, Week 2 will be the game where the Chiefs’ starting unit sees the most action. Typically, Andy Reid ramps his starters up in terms of their workload, giving them roughly one extra quarter of play with each consecutive week. Last season, he gave Mahomes and the starters a quarter of play in Week 3, but he put in the second and third units for the remainder of the game.
