The Chicago Sky (3-3) and Indiana Fever (1-8) meet Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tip-off is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Sky vs. Fever odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Sky won 3-1

The Sky picked up an 83-73 win over the LA Sparks at Wintrust Arena Thursday, covering as 4.5-point home favorites with the Under (159.5) connecting. G Marina Mabrey went for a team-best 20 points with 7 assists and 7 rebounds, including 6 3-pointers, while rookie F Angel Reese chipped in 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 25 minutes before fouling out.

Chicago is 1-2 straight up (SU) in its last 3 outings, but the Sky have covered 4 of their past 5 contests. The Under has connected in their past 2 outings. The Sky have covered their past 2 road games, and they covered in their only previous game as favorites. The Over is 2-1 in their 3 road games.

The Fever were tripped up 103-88 at home against the Seattle Storm Thursday, failing as 5.5-point underdogs and the Over (168) cashing. Indiana has lost 3 in a row since its lone win at Los Angeles May 24, and it is 0-3 against the spread (ATS) in the past 3 games since a 4-0 ATS run.

Indiana will be without C Temi Fagbenle for at least 2 more weeks due to a foot injury, while F Damiris Dantas (knee) and G Erica Wheeler (personal) carry questionable tags into Saturday’s game.

Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, went for 20 points, 9 assists and 3 rebounds with a blocked shot, 3 3-pointers and 7 turnovers in the loss to the Storm.

Obviously, all eyes will be on Clark vs. Reese in their 1st head-to-head battle since Iowa dispatched LSU 94-87 in the NCAA Tournament in the Elite 8 round.

Sky at Fever picks and predictions

Prediction

Sky 89, Fever 79

Moneyline

CHICAGO (-160) is a solid play as a decent favorite. The Sky have been playing much better basketball to date, and Mabrey has taken a lot of the pressure off of Reese as a veteran presence. For Indiana (+128), Clark has some decent veterans surrounding her, too, but she is the No. 1 scoring option, so it’s been a slightly rocky transition at times.

Against the spread

CHICAGO -3 (-110) is an even better value if you don’t mind laying the little bit of points. Do not play both the moneyline and point spread for more than 1½ combined UNITS as we’re not looking to double dip here.

For the Sky, they covered as a 4.5-point favorites last time out, their 1st time laying points this season. Chicago is 4-1 ATS in the past 5 outings, too, including 2-0 ATS in the past 2 on the road.

Indiana lost Fagbenle, a big part of the frontcourt, and the Fever weren’t all that deep to begin with. Wheeler’s status for Saturday is unknown, too.

The Fever are a little shorthanded, and that’s good news for Reese and the Sky, although this should be an exciting game throughout.

Over/Under

OVER 166 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

While the Under has cashed in each of the past 2 games for the Sky, including the only game as favorites so far, the Over is 2-1 in their first 3 road games.

Plus, Indiana has seen the total go Over in 3 straight, and 6 of its past 7 games, while allowing 88 or more points in 3 in a row, and 7 of the past 9 contests.
