Brandon Hughes officially got the call that every minor league baseball player is striving to get, the call to the big leagues. The Chicago Cubs will be welcoming the Spartan baseball alumnus to Wrigley Field today to join the big league club for a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
I can confirm the report that the Cubs are calling up LHP Brandon Hughes from Triple-A Iowa.

Hughes was a 16th-round draft choice by the Cubs in the 2017 MLB Draft after spending three seasons in East Lansing with Michigan State. Hughes was a standout outfielder for Michigan State and started his career in the Cubs organization as an outfielder before converting into a left-handed relief pitcher.
