The Minnesota Timberwolves (13-40) host the Chicago Bulls (22-29) Sunday at Target Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Bulls-Timberwolves odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.
Chicago had its three-game winning streak snapped Thursday in a 120-108 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The Bulls are 3-4 straight up over their past seven games, but six of those games were on the road and Chicago is 5-2 against the spread in those contests.
Minnesota blew a 17-point lead in Thursday’s 145-136 loss at the Boston Celtics to push on the spread as a 9-point underdog. The T-Wolves are 2-5 straight up but 4-2-1 ATS in their last seven games.
The Bulls won their first meeting of the season with the Timberwolves 133-126 in overtime and covered as 4.5-point favorites.

Money line (ML)
PASS, however, I’m all about parlaying Bulls (-190) with the Memphis Grizzlies’ money line for a plus-money payout.
That’s me being greedy. Me being smart passes on Chicago’s money line because it’s too much chalk for a regular-season favorite to win outright.

Against the spread (ATS)
Usually, I’d be fading an unproven BULLS -4.5 (-110) team laying points on the road to a Timberwolves squad that’s been a feisty underdog at home, but there are some interesting narratives between the two teams that lead me in the direction of Chicago.
First, this is Bulls All-Star SG Zach LaVine’s “revenge game” against the T-Wolves. Minnesota drafted and rostered LaVine for his first three seasons.
LaVine went off for 39 points in the first half of Chicago’s loss to the Hawks Thursday and is having a career year in the midst of Chicago’s playoff hunt. He gets the chance to rub his former employer’s nose in it tonight.
Second, there’s an awesome big vs. big matchup with T-Wolves C Karl-Anthony Towns facing off with newly acquired Bulls C Nikola Vucevic.
Both centers are elite offensively and whoever wins this matchup greatly improves his team’s chances of winning. Vucevic is having a career year and has been playing great ball lately. Big vs. big edge: Chicago, slightly.
TAKE BULLS -4.5 (-110) for 1 unit.
Over/Under (O/U)
Slight “LEAN” to the OVER 231.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit. These teams both play uptempo and chuck a bunch of threes.
I see a fun back-and-forth matchup that’ll be a lot more entertaining than the billing would suggest; however, this is only a hunch hence the lower-unit wager.
