The Chicago Bulls (1-1) face a division opponent in the Detroit Pistons (1-1) Saturday. Tipoff from Little Caesars Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Bulls vs. Pistons odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
Season series: First meeting; Bulls won 4-0 last season.
Chicago picked up a 104-103 OT win vs. the Toronto Raptors Friday thanks to a game-winning 3 from G Alex Caruso. The Bulls failed to cover as a 2-point favorite. G/F DeMar DeRozan showed out for the Bulls in the win, scoring 33 points on 11-for-22 shooting from the field and 10-for-14 from the free throw line.
Detroit came away with a 111-99 win vs. the Charlotte Hornets Friday, covering as a 4.5-point underdog. The Pistons held Charlotte to 37.5% shooting from the field and 25% shooting from beyond the arc while also out rebounding the Hornets 52-41. Detroit saw 6 players finish with 12 or more points in the win.

Bulls at Pistons picks and predictions
Prediction
Bulls 103, Pistons 99
Moneyline
LEAN BULLS (-120).
Detroit does pose a solid threat to the Bulls in this matchup, but it would be tough for me to advise betting on the Pistons here unless LaVine is ruled out. Chicago has beaten Detroit in all of the last 10 meetings and has covered the spread in 8 of those meetings.
Against the spread
LEAN BULLS -1.5 (-110).
The Pistons are a risky bet here unless you are fully confident that they will either win, or that this will finish as a 1-point game. If this game comes down to a buzzer-beater type scenario, that actually would likely favor the Bulls as they have more proven clutch time performers than Detroit. Chicago is the safest play here, but the moneyline and O/U are safer lines to bet.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 215.5 (-110).
The total has dropped 3 points with LaVine’s health in question Saturday morning. Both of Detroit’s 2 games so start the season have hit the Under, and Chicago’s last matchup vs. Toronto also hit the Under. Both of these teams struggle to find a consistent way to score the ball, and both struggle shooting the 3 ball. Also, 8 of the last 10 meetings between these squads have hit the Under.
