Prediction

Pistons 100, Bulls 98

Moneyline (ML)

Both teams are struggling. The BULLS (+145) have lost six in a row and seven of eight. The PISTONS (-176) have split their last four games but have lost 10 of 13. The Bulls are on the back end of a back-to-back, having lost to the Indiana Pacers 116-105. The Pistons last played Thursday. Chicago is a surprising 3-2 on the second game of a back-to-back. Detroit is 2-4 when they have a rest advantage.

The Pistons are 5-5 as home favorites and the Bulls are 3-8 as road underdogs.

All things considered, take the PISTONS -176 in this game between two struggling teams.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Bulls (+3.5) have only covered the spread in one of the last eight games and none during their six-game losing streak. However, on the season they have covered the spread as road underdogs in seven of 11 games.

Detroit is an even 5-5 against the spread as home favorites.

With both teams missing key players, this has the look of a game that will go down to the final shot.

Take the BULLS +3.5 (-106).

Over/Under (O/U)

The total is set at 217.5 points. Both teams are in the bottom third in the league in scoring and are missing key offensive weapons. However, Detroit is 8-2 over/under when favored at home and Chicago is 6-5 over/under as road dogs. Detroit’s games have gone Over in eight of their last 10 games and Chicago’s have in five of their last six. That said, I don’t see this game being high-scoring. They will buck the trends and stay UNDER 217.5 (-106).
