The Chicago Bears are bringing back a familiar face on defense. The Bears signed defensive tackle John Jenkins to a one-year deal Tuesday, which marks his second stint with the franchise.
Jenkins previously played for the Bears in 2017, where he recorded eight tackles in eight games, including one start.

A former third-round selection by the New Orleans Saints — during the time Bears general manager Ryan Pace was on staff — Jenkins has bounced around the league following his release from the Saints after three seasons in 2016. He’s played for the Seattle Seahawks (2016), Bears (2017), New York Giants (2018) and most recently the Miami Dolphins (2019).
In 82 career games, including 29 starts, Jenkins has tallied 155 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 8 tackles-for-loss.
Last season, Jenkins appeared in 16 games for the Dolphins, with five starts, where he notched 34 tackles, 1 sack and 2 tackles-for-loss.
Jenkins provides depth on the defensive line, where he’ll battle with Abdullah Anderson and Brent Urban.
