There’s a reason they call it an initial 53-man roster, as things could and surely will change, as was the case for the Chicago Bears on Wednesday.
The Bears claimed six players off of waivers, including offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood and nose tackle Armon Watts. They also parted ways with defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga, linebacker Caleb Johnson, offensive lineman Zachary Thomas, cornerback Duke Shelley and linebacker Joe Thomas. Receiver Tajae Sharpe was placed on injured reserve.
