Chicago Bears announce initial 53-man roster

The Bears have established their initial 53-man roster ahead of the 2023 regular season, but changes are likely coming.

Following a couple days worth of cuts, the Chicago Bears have finalized their initial 53-man roster, which now includes new offensive lineman Dan Feeney.

That included some notable cuts, including quarterback P.J. Walker, defensive end Trevis Gipson, cornerback Kindle Vildor and offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood.

Chicago placed wide receiver Isaiah Ford on injured reserve.

Keep in mind, this initial 53-man roster is subject to change as waiver wire claims are made and other players are moved around, including the possibility of left guard Teven Jenkins landing on injured reserve.

The Bears have top waiver wire priority, which general manager Ryan Poles has already exercised this summer. There will be some top talent for him to choose from as he looks to assemble the regular-season roster.
