Check out where this CBS Sports mock draft has Toney landing

CBS Sports’ latest mock draft shows Toney falling a bit in the first round, but potentially in a beneficial way to him.

But what of Toney? He’s seen much less consensus from prognosticators. Some mock drafts show him going as high as within the top 20, while some have him falling toward the last few picks of the round. Some still have him falling out of the second round entirely.

Fornelli’s mock has Toney just barely sneaking into the first round, and though he probably wouldn’t be happy with the spot, he’d likely be thrilled with the destination.

(function (d, s, n) {
var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
js = d.createElement(s);
js.className = n;
js.src = “//player.ex.co/player/e5869bc6-faf6-4b7a-8c06-b5610c96a8fe”;
fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, ‘script’, ‘exco-player’));

This shows Toney being taken at 31st overall by Super Bowl LV runner-up Kansas City. The Chiefs already have an embarrassment of riches on offense. Adding a speedy, agile receiver like Toney to a unit that already includes Tyreek Hill seems like it should be a violation of NFL rules.

I mean, why not? Why not add another speed demon to the Kansas City offense for Patrick Mahomes to launch 70-yard bombs to?

While Toney could make a bit more money early in his career if he were selected closer to the top 20 by a team like Chicago or Washington. But if he fell to the Chiefs and had the opportunity to begin his career with Patrick Mahomes as a quarterback, it’s hard to imagine he’d be too disappointed.
