The Denver Broncos have a new running back.
Denver agreed to terms on a two-year, $7.5 million contract with Samaje Perine on Tuesday. He will now team up with Javonte Williams to give the Broncos a one-two punch similar to what the Cincinnati Bengals had with Perine and Joe Mixon.
Perine has totaled 2,328 yards from scrimmage and scored 13 touchdowns through six seasons (76 games) in the NFL. In addition to making plays as a runner and receiver out of the backfield, Perine is also an excellent blocker.
He will be a key addition to Sean Payton’s offense. Here are some of Perine’s highlights:

Against the Kansas City Chiefs, specifically, Perine has rushed 28 times for 137 yards and hauled in seven receptions for 59 receiving yards in three regular-season games. In the playoffs, Perine has totaled 69 yards and two touchdowns in a pair of postseason games against Kansas City.
After going 3-2 against KC with the Bengals, Perine will now play against the Chiefs twice a season with the Broncos. Fans in Denver will hope he will have similar success against KC going forward.
