New Penn State head coach [autotag]Mike Rhoades[/autotag] returns to his home state after a lengthy coaching career outside of it. Stops at Rice and VCU where he was the leader of their teams has him coming full circle and into a power five coaching job.
In total, Rhoades has coached for a total of nine seasons at the division one level where he has a coaching record of 176-113. He has made the NCAA tournament three times and the NIT tournament once, all came at his most recent stop at VCU.
He also has an Atlantic 10 coach of the year trophy from his 2019 season where he won the conference and made the tournament. Now he hopes those experiences and approaches come with him to Penn State as they look to keep the momentum that they gained this past year.
