The coronavirus pandemic hasn’t stopped construction on SoFi Stadium in Inglewood as work on the massive new building continues. The Oculus video board is being built and will eventually be raised, the roof panels are being installed and seats are being put into place.
The Rams and Chargers will both host games at SoFi Stadium beginning in August for the preseason, assuming the 2020 season isn’t delayed due to COVID-19. The project is on a very tight schedule, and once completed, it’ll be one of the best stadiums in the country.
Recent drone footage shows the progress that’s been made, specifically on the roof and the outer paneling. In the video, you can also see that just about all of the seats have been installed, if not all of them.
SoFi Stadium on track to open in July, but with so many events being canceled through the summer, it’s possible the grand opening will be pushed back. Rams COO Kevin Demoff is still hopeful the season won’t be impacted, and the NFL has said it plans to play a full season.
For now, things remain on schedule, but as with everything else around the world, they’re subject to change.
