Chasing Calvin: Cooper Kupp just off Megatron’s pace for single-season record

Cooper Kupp has four games left to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season record for receiving yards. Can he do it?

Cooper Kupp has been a valuable player for the Rams since entering the NFL as a third-round pick in 2017, but he’s taken his game to another level as one of the best wide receivers in the league this season. With Matthew Stafford at quarterback, Kupp has put up eye-popping numbers through the Rams’ first 13 games.

He even has a chance to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season record of 1,964 receiving yards, which he set back in 2012 with the Lions – and coincidentally with Stafford as his quarterback.

Thanks to the NFL expanding the regular season to 17 games, Kupp will play one more game than Johnson did in 2012. But even with the extra game, it would be remarkable for Kupp to break Johnson’s record.

Which is why we’re tracking his progress with four games to go. Below is an update on Kupp’s chase for this historic record ahead of Week 15.
