Michigan State’s linebacker depth took a hit this week when they lost LB Chase Kline to the transfer portal.
The former 4-star prospect saw playtime in limited action this year in a spell role as a pass rusher. Transferring after 4 games preserved his redshirt status, preserving an extra year of eligibility.
Kline took to Twitter to give a goodbye and a thank you to Spartan Nation for his time as a member of the program.

Kline never gelled in the new 4-2-5 scheme and will be better suited in a 3-4 base defense. Spartan Nation will wish him luck.
