Chase Elliott undergoes shoulder surgery during the 2023 NASCAR offseason. Find out Elliott’s exact injury and timeline before 2024!

On Friday afternoon, Hendrick Motorsports driver [autotag]Chase Elliott[/autotag] announced that he had undergone shoulder surgery due to an old injury and chronic pain. Elliott’s surgery on Wednesday was successful as the issue was revealed to be a torn labrum. The driver of the No. 9 car will be ready to race at the beginning of the 2024 NASCAR season.

Elliott is coming off a campaign where he missed six races due to a fractured left tibia and one race for intentionally wrecking Denny Hamlin at the 2023 Coca-Cola 600. The Hendrick Motorsports driver failed to make the playoffs as a driver but brought the No. 9 car to the Round of 8 before being eliminated at Martinsville Speedway.

The 2023 NASCAR season represented the first time that Elliott had not won a race since the year of his first Cup Series victory. He struggled to find a race-winning pace after recovering from his left leg injury. Elliott will look to enter the 2024 NASCAR season with renewed optimism and health as the Daytona 500 is under 100 days away.
