[autotag]Chase Elliott[/autotag] will have a new spotter in his ear for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. On Saturday evening, Elliott’s spotter, Eddie D’Hondt, posted a farewell to Hendrick Motorsports on social media. The organization has confirmed that D’Hondt won’t return as Elliott’s spotter in 2023, which means the driver will have a new voice in his ear for the first time.
D’Hondt spent 12 years with Hendrick Motorsports and won 26 Cup Series races, plus the 2020 Cup Series championship with Elliott. D’Hondt is expected to keep spotting, but it won’t be with Hendrick Motorsports anymore. As for who could replace D’Hondt on the No. 9 team, one name instantly comes to mind.

Trey Poole, Elliott’s cousin, has spotted for the No. 9 team in the past, so it would be a natural fit to make him full-time. The two have good chemistry together and have worked on several occasions. If Hendrick Motorsports wants an easy fit for Elliott, Poole would be the way to go as he has previous experience with the driver.
