Chase Elliott not penalized by NASCAR for actions at Chicago in 2024

Chase Elliott has not been penalized by NASCAR for his on-track actions with Daniel Suarez at the Chicago Street Course in 2024.

NASCAR has released its penalty report for the race weekend at the Chicago Street Course, and [autotag]Chase Elliott[/autotag] is noticeably missing. On Wednesday morning, NASCAR announced that Bubba Wallace has been fined $50,000 for hitting Alex Bowman after the checkered flag. Bowman made contact with the wall on his driver’s side with the window net down.

The sport looked into Elliott’s situation with Daniel Suarez and determined nothing should come from it. The driver of the No. 9 car drove up to Suarez after the race and showed his displeasure. The No. 99 car didn’t make contact with the wall. Ultimately, NASCAR believed there wasn’t enough to give Elliott a penalty despite his track record stemming from Denny Hamlin in 2023.

Thankfully, NASCAR decided that both incidents weren’t worthy of taking points away, which would drastically impact the course of the season. Wallace continues his fight to make the 2024 NASCAR playoffs as Elliott tries to win the regular season. Now, the driver of the No. 9 car will focus on the next six races as he gears up for the playoffs.
