Charlotte Hornets at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Charlotte Hornets at Phoenix Suns NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Charlotte Hornets (15-16) stop by Chase Center to play the Golden State Warriors (18-15) Friday at 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hornets-Warriors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Charlotte has alternated between winning and losing in each of its past six games (3-3 overall and ATS), which includes a 102-100 victory over Golden State this past Saturday. The game against the Warriors was the Hornets’ only game in the last six that has gone Under the total.

Golden State won back-to-back games to wrap up a four-game road trip and are 4-2 overall (4-2 ATS) in the last six contests. The Warriors’ two bigs—James Wiseman and Kevon Looney—have both returned from injury. Neither were active in the first Hornets-Warriors meeting.

Hornets at Warriors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 123, Hornets 111

Money line (ML)

PASS because Golden State is the right side, but betting the Warriors (-250), or any similarly priced NBA money line favorites, is a bad long-term strategy.

Against the spread (ATS)

The circumstances for how Charlotte beat Golden State last week were so fluky—which is evident by the line for this game—that I have to BET WARRIORS -6.5 (-105).

It took PG Stephen Curry being sidelined minutes prior to tip-off plus several egregious officiating blunders, including a possible jump-ball situation that led to PF Draymond Green getting double technical fouls in the final seconds with the Warriors up two points, for the Hornets to win their first meeting with Golden State. Charlotte SG Terry Rozier stepped up and hit both free throws and then hit a game-winning buzz-beater to end the game.

The return of Curry and Golden State’s bigs combined with the fact that the Hornets aren’t sneaking up on anyone plus the embarrassing nature of the Warriors’ first loss to the Hornets, gives me a lot of confidence Golden State crushes Charlotte tonight.

BET WARRIORS -6.5 (-105) for 1 unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS because my prediction aligns with BetMGM‘s projection. However, I do lean Over 233.5 (-115) because the Over has cashed in eight straight games Charlotte has been an underdog and my read is the Warriors knock down shots tonight.

However, Golden State has one of the best defenses in the Association and Rozier was the only Hornets player that had any success last week against the Warriors.
