The Alabama basketball program received some shocking news when an ESPN report revealed that rising junior center, Charles Bediako, will remain in the 2023 NBA draft and forgo his multiple years of NCAA eligibility.
Bediako joins two other members of the Crimson Tide in the draft, Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney. Miller is expected to be one of the first three players selected and Clowney’s name has been fluctuating throughout the second round with a chance of him being a late first-round selection.
In 2022, Bediako averaged 65.9% from the field, 6.4 points per game, 6 rebounds per game and nearly two blocks per game.
He stands at seven feet tall and was a standout player as the postseason got underway for the Crimson Tide. While this decision is somewhat puzzling, he could have a very bright future in the NBA if he lands in the right situation.
