The Chargers “aren’t going to let Mike Williams go,” according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation. If both sides don’t agree on a long-term extension, the Chargers are prepared to franchise tag the WR.

The Eagles are set to add a veteran wide receiver to the roster via free agency and one big-name player could be off the list.
Tyler Dragon of USA Today is reporting that the Los Angeles Chargers are prepared to use the franchise tag on Mike Williams if they can’t reach a long-term deal before the March 8 deadline.
Williams had 76 receptions for 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021 and would provide the Eagles with the red zone target that could take quarterback Jalen Hurts to the next level as a passer.
