According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Los Angeles Chargers are expected to start Justin Herbert despite a high ankle sprain against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Herbert went out and tested the injured ankle Sunday morning and according to Schefter is going to give it a go.
Herbert had been limited at practice all week and there was a great deal of uncertainty about his status. The Chargers and Steelers are both 2-0 heading into this week’s game and they understand how important this one is.
For Herbert, his mobility will be a serious issue if he can’t move around against the Steelers relentless pass rush led by T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith along with Cam Heyward.
Justin Herbert is expected to start today, per source.
