Tennessee pitcher Chad Dallas received third-team All-America honors Wednesday.
Dallas, a junior pitcher and the Volunteers’ Friday night starter throughout the 2021 season, was named third-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
He is the second Tennessee player to pick up postseason All-America honors this season, joining fellow junior and infielder Jake Rucker, who was named All-America by Collegiate Baseball News.
Dallas, a native of Orange, Texas, has posted an 11-1 record this season. He has started 16 games. His 11 victories are the most recorded by a Vols’ pitcher since 2005 and ranks sixth in UT history.
Dallas has 118 strikeouts in 2021, eighth among Tennessee pitchers during a single season in program history.
He and the Vols open play in the College World Series Sunday against Virginia.
First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. EDT at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
