CFB analyst argues that the problem with Alabama is the coaching staff

Could the real reason behind Alabama football’s woes be the coaching staff under Nick Saban?

Josh Pate of Late Kick By CBS Sports, puts together well-thought-out monologue-style college football opinions. When Pate says something, the masses listen because they know it’s not just another hot take. Well, Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide coaching staff have become the subject of a Pate opinion.

“Underneath Nick Saban, those folks aren’t carrying the water like they used to,” said Pate.

Plain and simple, Saban is still the head coach, but the ones working day-to-day operations with specific positional groups have changed. While that’s nothing new for a head coach who has been with the program since 2007, the recent few coordinators and assistant coaches under him haven’t been able to produce.

Big-time names like Kirby Smart, Steve Sarkisian, Jeremy Pruitt, Lane Kiffin and others were once a part of what made the Crimson Tide so great.

Some are saying the dynasty is dead, others aren’t as quick to jump to that conclusion.

Pate doesn’t pull any punches when talking about how lackluster recent assistant coaches and coordinators have been, but he’s certainly not disrespecting the Tide.
