Celtics coach Brad Stevens says Jayson Tatum is getting close to a return, and Celtics fans will be hoping their star will be back on the floor as soon as possible. With Tatum out of the lineup again on Friday night in Philadelphia, the Celtics lost a second consecutive game to the 76ers, and extended their losing streak to three.
After falling to the 76ers by eight on Wednesday, the Celtics led at halftime by lost control of the game in the third quarter, as the 76ers outscored them by 14 points in the period. Joel Embiid had another big night, scoring 38 points on just 15 shots.
Jaylen Brown finished the game with 42 points, matching a previous career-high he set earlier this season against the Grizzlies. Brown also had nine rebounds and three assists.
