More than a few NBA fans have daydreamed about a chance encounter in a local ballpark with a star from their favorite league rolling up to play a game of pickup. And those daydreams typically involve playing well enough with said star that one is not entirely run off the court in the process.
But such a thing once happened for a fan who saw Boston Celtics veteran big man Blake Griffin make a surprise appearance back when he was with the Brooklyn Nets with the host of the eponymous “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” show (who Griffin had just demolished in Pop A Shot) and said fan actually held his own from the 3-point line.
