Celtics unable to complete huge comeback, fall to Bucks 121 – 119

Boston nearly pulled off the big comeback, but choked in the final seconds.

The Boston Celtics mounted one of their biggest comebacks of the season in the second half of their 121 – 119 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks but ultimately fell as time ran out, unable to seal the deal with a Daniel Theis 3-point attempt at the end of regulation.

The Celtics were down as much as 25 points, but found it within themselves to nearly pull off the win with gritty play from All-Star forward Jaylen Brown (24 points and 10 rebounds) and veteran point guard Kemba Walker (23 points and 6 assists), with reserve floor general Jeff teague continuing to play well off of the bench with 15 points, including 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.

It would seem both fans and players alike are getting tired of victories merely of the moral variety however.

As the team gets within less than a full day of the 2021 NBA trade deadline, changes may reshape the face of this struggling Atlantic Division franchise ahead of the team’s Friday rematch with the Bucks here in Milwaukee.

Or we may see much the same team take the court in a reprisal of tonight’s tough loss for a team that has now dropped two games in a row and six of its last 10 to cling to the East’s eighth seed at 21 wins and 23 losses.
