With the Boston Celtics set to embark on a five-game West Coast road trip, first-round pick Romeo Langford has been assigned to the Maine Red Claws of the G League, the team announced.
The rookie made his G League debut with the Red Claws on Saturday, recording 27 points, six blocks, five rebounds and two assists. Shortly after that game, the Celtics recalled Langford following the injury to Gordon Hayward but he has not played in two games since re-joining Boston.
As the Celtics get set to play the Golden State Warriors on Friday, the team likely wanted to keep Langford with the Red Claws in order to get playing time. Langford has been buried on the depth chart with the Celtics and has logged just 14 seconds this season.
