Boston Celtics rookie Payton Pritchard on Tuesday reportedly signed a multi-year endorsement contract with Nike, becoming the latest rookie to come to terms with an apparel company.
The news of the signing was first reported by Nick DePaula of ESPN.
The 26th overall pick joined Sacramento Kings guard Tyrese Haliburton as the first known rookies to sign with Nike this season. He has worn Nike shoes throughout much of the year, with the Oregon Ducks colorways featured prominently on the court.
Pritchard, in 55 games this season, is averaging 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists with the Celtics. He recently had a stretch in which he scored in double figures in five straight games, his longest run of the season.

The news of signing comes amidst a slow period for endorsement deals this year, especially among the rookie class. Apparel companies are said to be scaling things back a bit this year due to a variety of factors, most notably because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to Payton and Haliburton, rookies Anthony Edwards (adidas), LaMelo Ball (PUMA), Onyeka Okongwu (adidas) and Aaron Nesmith (New Balance) have also inked shoe deals this season.
