The Boston Celtics have recalled two-way rookie guard Tremont Waters from the G League for the first time this season, the team announced on Sunday.
With Kemba Walker doubtful to play Monday night against the Sacramento Kings due to a neck sprain, the Celtics likely brought up Waters in order to have additional depth in the backcourt. Walker had to be taken off of the court on a stretcher on Friday after a scary collision with a teammate.
Waters recorded 24 points and eight assists Saturday night for the Maine Red Claws in his fifth game of the season. Waters is averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds while he is shooting 44.7% from the field, including 40% from 3-point range.

Waters has yet to suit up with the Celtics in the regular season and could make his debut on Monday. After scoring 24 points in each of his past two games, Waters has played well as of late and has proven to be among the top guards in the G League so far this season.
