Celtics president Brad Stevens lauds Al Horford’s fit since returning to the team from OKC

The Celtics exec sees Horford as a major part of what drove Boston’s second-half surge.

Sitting Boston President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens recently sat down with the hosts of the 98.5 The Sports Hub “Toucher and Rich” show Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb to talk about the Celtics’ solid play in recent games after a tough start to the 2021-22 NBA season.

The success of veteran big man Al Horford, in particular, was cited as a factor. Stevens explained his logic for bringing the Celtics alumnus back to the team from the Oklahoma City Thunder via trade last offseason, which is looking brilliant in hindsight. “I thought that he would be a good fit with us,” explained Stevens to the show’s hosts.

“He’s played really well,” added the Celtics team president. “He’s been very available.”
