No Jimmy Butler playing for the Miami Heat? For the Boston Celtics, what is usually an advantage for a team has often proved to be a reason for the Celtics to take their foot off the gas in dangerous fashion. With Butler out for personal reasons, the Celtics could have taken the Heat lightly, but instead found themselves in a dog fight they managed to eke out a 110-106 win in.
The game was heavily impacted by injuries, with Kristaps Porzingis (25 points, 9 rebounds) needing to exit the game with a back contusion, and on Miami’s side, Terry Rozier and Josh Richardson leaving the game hurt and Caleb Martin rolling an ankle late.
Big games from Jayson Tatum (26 points, 10 boards, 9 assists), Jaylen Brown (20 points, 9 rebounds), and Jrue Holiday (15 points, 6 assists) secured the win for Boston.
