Celtics lose a close one to the Thunder as Jayson Tatum steps up on an off night for Jaylen Brown

SGA looked every bit of an MVP candidate against Boston in the loss.

The Boston Celtics lost a close game to the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road Tuesday night, with Jayson Tatum stepping up on a night where Jaylen Brown was struggling. Tatum had a great game in the loss, putting up 30 points, 8 assists, and 13 rebounds.

However, Brown had a poor shooting night, going 4-of-18 from the field and 0-of-8 from 3-point range that largely negated the value of his 15 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the Celtics’ effort late and their 17 offensive rebounds, they couldn’t overcome the Thunder’s strong performance, particularly from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who looked every bit of an MVP candidate against Boston that night.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast took some time to dissect the loss postgame, and seemed not especially concerned as frustrating as it may have been.
