Jayson Tatum is emerging as one of the most popular players in the NBA. The Boston Celtics star is entering his fifth consecutive All-Star game, has been named to the All-NBA First Team in both of the previous two seasons and has been to multiple Conference Finals along with an NBA Finals. He has achieved a rare level of success for a player of his age.
As such, he has amassed a fanbase that likely spans a lot further than the city of Boston. On Tuesday, the NBA released a list showing which players had sold the most jerseys this season. Tatum ranked second behind Steph Curry and one place ahead of LeBron James. The humble forward quickly took to X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Wow this is crazy to me,” Tatum wrote.

Tatum, like the rest of his teammates, has been sacrificing this season. There is too much talent on the Celtics roster for any player to stand out as the primary option in the rotation. Instead, everyone is playing their role and doing what’s necessary to help the team progress toward being a championship-level roster.
That fans around the world recognize Tatum’s on-court performances, exceptional professionalism, and career success is proof that he’s on his way to becoming a genuine face of the NBA, if he’s not there already.
