Celtics injury update: Star forward Jaylen Brown out vs. Los Angeles Lakers (12/7)

The team is playing it safe with his hamstring moving forward.

The Boston Celtics confirmed that All-Star forward Jaylen Brown will not be taking the court at Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as Staples Center) to play the Celtics’ longtime rivals the Los Angeles Lakers in the two team’s second meeting of the 2021-22 NBA season.

Head coach Ime Udoka related to the press in the team’s post-shootaround media availability that the Georgia native was not quite 100% back from his strained hamstring, and would thus be continuing to recuperate to ensure he is ready to play and free of injury moving forward. Brown has been dealing with the lingering tightness forcing him to sit since tweaking the old injury from seasons past in a contest with the Miami Heat on November 4th.

No news on when Boston can expect him back but expect the Cal-Berkeley product to be listed as questionable moving forward.
