Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard has entered the league’s health and safety protocols, according to the team. The team also announced that Romeo Langford, Robert Williams III, Aaron Nesmith and Jabari Parker are all available for the team’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. The Celtics tipoff against the Spurs at 7:30 p.m. at TD Garden Wednesday.
Pritchard has seen his role ebb and flow this year, sometimes playing upwards of 25 to 30 minutes and others playing less than 15. He played a career-high 44 minutes just three games ago in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but registered under 13 in the past two games.
He has played just 13.5 minutes per game, averaging 4.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He has not shot as well as he did last year, with his field goal percentage down from 44% in 2020-21 to 35.9% this year. His three-point shooting has also suffered, down 5.4% on a tick fewer attempts per game.
