Celtics injury update: Boston’s Aaron Nesmith upgraded to questionable vs. Denver Nuggets

The Vanderbilt product is inching back towards health.

The Boston Celtics have announced that second-year small forward Aaron Nesmith is listed as questionable to play in their Sunday evening road tilt with the Denver Nuggets after having missed several games due to a sprained right ankle just moments into a start of his own for another player out with an ankle sprain at the time, Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown.

Brown has since returned to action with a less serious sprain having already healed, but the South Carolina native landed from a leap on his turned ankle in the team’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies on March 3, likely the reason it has taken longer to heal.

Nesmith had been working his way into a trusted role with the bench mob before the injury, his high-energy play providing a needed boost for his fellow reserve players at stagnant moments.

Averaging 3.4 points, and 1.7 boards per game this season, expect to see the Vanderbilt product working his way back on to the floor soon if not this game, which may be too
